Don't feed them, they will be fine.
Put the light on a timer if it isn't already...

I am leaving on vacation thursday morning and returning tuesday evening.

I
have three electric yellow labids and my neighbor who was going to feed

them
had to go on a business trip and won't be back before I return.

Leave the fish. They are not harmed at all by a few days without food. We
have left our fish up to 2 weeks, with all of them surviving happily. The
main exception is very young fish, but they have to be _very_ young to be
troubled by 5 days.

Also means that the missing water change is less of a problem.

Would one of those weekend feeder tablets be enough to hold them off or

is
there something else I should get?

No, keep that cr** out of your tank.

Also, what should I do about the light? Should I just leave it on? Off?

We ususally do, as our tank is planted.

Good trip,

Martin

You're a moron chip... Self contained ecosystem, my ass... Fish don't get
food once a month in the wild.... Get your head out of your ass.

why worry so much J?

go on with your business, your fish won't die missing you
imagine what is like in real river lake, is there a someone's hand

droppping
flakes to them?

if you place that high level of importance to your fish,
it is wow!

as you might have read my posts, i hardly feed my cichlids.

unfortunately, some people are so sensitive to my idea of a
self contained eco system, that they totally disapprove my concept,
and not only that , also public insulting me, due to lack
of self defense. When these people have nothing to defend their
positions, they just resort to calling names... It is typical
of a macho man.

They'll be fine for a week... I would put the light on a timer and maybe
lower the temperature a couple degrees to decrease metabolic rates and also
the chances of aggression....

I went to Vegas for a week, never fed, everyone was fine.... very happy to
see me, but still no harm no foul.... only thing I did before I left was a
good cleaning and water change, then a normal feeding, a tad extra for the
pl*co and I was off...
