Strange Behavior?
I have 2 bumble bee amongst other different cichlids. 1 of the bumble
bees recently has become very dark in color, more black than yellow. And it has been in an unusual mood. He keeps chasing the other bumble bee around, zipping around back & forth across the tank. And than bullying the others in the tank if they get in his/her way. I don't know if he is simply picking on the other bumble bee or if the are mating. What do you all think? Thanks for any tips.. Strange Behavior?
I just recently got a trio of bumblebees and the same thing occured, I
believe the black one is the dominant male,(ours sometimes is completely black) and am hoping the other 2 are female. And it does sound like mating behavior to me, does he dance for her? kinda looks like hes getting shocked... My female hap extended a breeding tube and I was able to see it when she bred, so I'm watching for similar in the bumblebees, great cichlids, good luck :)) Kelly "Crystina J" wrote in message ... Bumblebee's were some of the fist africans i had still have em to this day.
The one going all black is the "bull" and is pretty much going to try to keep every other fish in line. His line. Ive studdied this over 1 1/2 years and pay special attention to my bumblebees ive actually had a spawning of them and didnt notice oddly enough and wound up with 2 little bee's. Some how with out trying they spawned in a community tank and having read about it it seems to be exceedingly rare in a community tank that you get fry to survive without intervention.
