Anacharis Question
Hi All . . . :)
I've got a quick question I'm hoping to get some help with. About a month ago, I purchased some Anacharis. It's doing fine in my tank, so well that it's growing like a weed. I weekly have to trim the plants and make new bunches. What I'm wondering about is: On some of the plants, I'm noticing "root" like strings sprouting from the middle of the stalks right about where new growth has taken place. I'm thinking these are the "roots" of the new growth, but I'm not sure. Are these "roots" from the new growth? And when I trim the plants (if these are indeed roots) should I then trim below these roots? (I'm guessing I should, but thought I'd ask first). Many Thanks in Advance, ~*~ Vosklady ~*~ |

Anacharis Question
Anacharis just does that... they tend to shoot out roots from anywhere along
the stem. If you want to use this as a guide to use for cuttings go ahead. Unlike my cabomba which seems to grow mishapen new growth from the place where I've cut it when pruning, anacharis doesn't even let this slow it down. I one took a foot long section and cut it into one inch lengths and planted all of these and now I have a tank full of anacharis. It's a good oxgenator and it's kinda pretty waving around in the filter current. |
Anacharis Question
Thanks to you both for your replies, they are appreciated. :)
And yes, I too think Anacharis is pretty floating about in the current. :) Regards, ^*^ Vosklady ^*^ |
