Can someone answer this please. What is the difference between General hardness
and total hardness and how does it relate to KH?

GH is commonly known as total hardness. GH is the measure of dissolved
salts in your water in particular calcium and magnesium. KH or carbonate
hardness (alkalinity) is the measure of the capacity of your water to
neutralize acid or the buffering capacity
