Plants and Goldfish

i was making some research and theres also the crinum thaianum or onion
plant. I find it depends on the fish. I've had goldfish eat every plant and some that won't eat any plant. |

I don't have any plants with the goldfish, but I had a hornwort in the Qtank
when I put in one of the gf. She ripped it up in seconds. But I think there were probably baby snails in the plant since the tank it came from is full of them. What about Java Fern? I see it mentioned all the time. I also have Ludwigia, but, again, not with the gf. I don't think they'd bother with it since the snails don't bother it. Word of advice... soak your plants in salt water and rinse well before putting in the tank. This kills the snails. Someone else can advise you better on this, but, believe me, they are a pain, and multiply like you wouldn't believe! Tammy |

I have Amazon Swords, dwarf Sagittaria, java fern, Anubias and some strange
looking bulb that shoots up spade shaped leaves. The ryukin pulls the grass (Sagittaria) occasionally if she's hungry, but these plants seem to survive the gf. Deanna |
