2 Air stone questions
Is there any way to get my ceramic air stones / air discs to lie down flat?
When I had gravel in my tank the only way I could do it was to bury them (which I know you're not supposed to do), and now that I don't they're each nearly vertical. I have two 4" air discs, but bubbles only come out of about 30% of them, so I think I need a bigger air pump. Anyone have a recommendation for one that's powerful enough for both, and runs quietly? Cheers:D |

Cheers:D i had the same problem and I just gave up on the disk airstones. I stick with airstones that are cylindrical in shape and come with suction cups to keep them in place. the only thing i think will keep the disks down is sticking them with the same kind of glue thats use in corners of glass aquariums way before you fill it with water or put fish in it. as for airpumps the reno 400( http://www.petsmart.com/products/product_812.shtml ) is highly recommended. check out the link. ----== Posted via Newsfeed.Com - Unlimited-Uncensored-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeed.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 100,000 Newsgroups ---= 19 East/West-Coast Specialized Servers - Total Privacy via Encryption =--- |

Cheers:D its probably a dead issue but it just occured to me to buy suction cups for the air tubes that come from the air pump. now I can actually use any airstone of any design becuase whats acually kept down is the air tube it self I have an illustration of this in the first cuple of images on my site. http://alkadmzu.com/check_out_the_animals.htm ----== Posted via Newsfeed.Com - Unlimited-Uncensored-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeed.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 100,000 Newsgroups ---= 19 East/West-Coast Specialized Servers - Total Privacy via Encryption =--- |

Is it an Aqua-Air (which is branded by Interpet over here in the UK). Just wondered, as I am looking to purchase one soon and was wondering how people normally attach or hang air stones in the tank because most don't come with anything - where as that one has the suction cap. I preffer the the first one I mentioned. they'er more flexible once you get the suction cups that hold down the air tube. I'll take a trip to the local petstore and check for the name of the stuff on sunday and let you know. http://alkadmzu.com/im001013.jpg http://alkadmzu.com/im001001.jpg http://alkadmzu.com/im000987.jpg Sorry the images are so big, they'll be hard on slow connections but good for getting closer looks. ----== Posted via Newsfeed.Com - Unlimited-Uncensored-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeed.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 100,000 Newsgroups ---= 19 East/West-Coast Specialized Servers - Total Privacy via Encryption =--- |
