New UK aquatic plant society (UKAPS)

Why algae attaches to plants

If I read that correctly, I can expect more algal growth on the
glass and substrate than on the plants?

I should have seen it sooner but...........
Unfortunately there is a small group of children who find it entertaining to
call each other names on this groups site. One needs to be patient with them
and hope that they will eventually grow out...

The Algae is probably Compsopogon, I just needed a pointer to help identify
it.

Tutrial on planted tank maintenance:
1) fertilize plants
2) Siphon out waste
3) add water
4) most importantly, leave it alone, modulo cuttings from stme plants to
keep them tidy.

now. Some of the plants are outgrowing their allotted space and need
pruning, I tend to disturb things when I try...

Water Lettuce - new growth
I know this will sound a little strange, but all I have kept over the last
25 years is Marines. This year I thought a plants only freshwater tank would
be interesting, especially with all the CO2...
