Evidenced by the many sad experiences of others (a fool learns only from
his own experiences), it's just a matter of time before the failure
occurs with mechanical switches.

Why replace them if they're working?
To find something more reliable. Just because they haven't failed yet,
doesn't mean it won't. There are countless tales out there of
failed mechanical switches....

Have you looked into the non-mechanical switches?
