Discus wasting away are most likely suffering from Spironucleus
flagellates (or whatever the name is), an internal parasite. They can
be treated with a medicine containing Metronidazole. You may find this
in a medicine at your fish store, depending where you live. Where I
live I had to get a prescription from a veterinarian, and then to a
pharmacy for the medicine. Metronidazole can either be mixed in the
food, or put in the water like standard tropical fish meds.


That's it the last of my three discus gone, one through moving, one wasted
away a year ago and now this one, who I'd managed to keep through all the
trials and tribs associated. This one suddenly went into hiding last week,
and then popped it yesterday. Bit dispondant about them at the mo, and think
I'll stay away from discus for a while.
