Apologies for cross posting - I'm in the UK so appreciate info from both
sides of the pond.

What would you recommend to treat minor injuries, scrapes etc? I have
loads of different water treatments but sometimes it seems more stressful
to isolate a fish that's only got a minor wound. I'd like to find
something that can just be dabbed on the fish and then return it to the
main tank but everything (at least here in the UK) seems to just treat the
water

Dabbing on medicine is definately the way to go for injuries. There are
two people medicines I've used on fish that are available in the US.
Either works well to let an injury heal cleanly and without infection.

My first choice is an antibiotic ointment called Neosporin. It's a
mixture of neomycin, polymixin B, and bacitracin in petroleum jelly
that's designed for use on scrapes and cuts. The second thing I've used
with good success is mercurichrome tincture.
