As long as your getting a continous flow of water through from a
brook, it could possibly also be introducing nasties from a source
upstream of where your diverting the water from.....I ofund that a
nutrient rich water is a good breeding ground for nasties in koi and
GF. Seems natural game type fish like bass and bream can tolerate it
but the ornamental tpes don;t fare as well in it. It may not be a bad
idea to check the water for nasty organisms, as you really never know
what may have gotten into it at some time or other.
