Morning All

New pond is up & running & gone the usual (not an unpleasent shade of)
green.

Pond is in the Southern half of the UK, 60% sunlight, 1600 gallons, part
raised, 4.5 ft deep.

Pump is rated at 15000 ltrs p/h and the flow is split 50/50 to circulate
water & to 9000 ltr biolgical filer. No UV

Only got about a 2 feet of fish, a large lilly & some oxyginators.

I'm not a huge fan of chemicals & although my smaller pond is crystal
clear, it's packed full of plants.

Question is - how long should I expect to wait for the water to start
clearing.

======================
It can take anywhere from days to weeks or even months - sometimes they stay
green. If it doesn't clear in a reasonable amount of time you can get a UV
light. They work! Most of the people I know put them before the filter so
they can filter out the dead algae rather than have it shot back into the
pond - to feed yet another algae bloom. Other people put them after the
filter believing the do a better job on filtered water. To each his own.
Whatever works for you.
