YOu certainly heard right..YOu need some calcium (southern type)
bentonite...stay away from the sodium(western type) bentonite which is
primarilywhat kitty litter is composed of......There is absolutely
nothing to be gained by dumping sodium (western) bentonite into yur
pond other than slimed up plumbing and slimed up pond liner etc etc..

If your fortunate enough to live in an area where foundry supplies are
sold, you can buy a 50# bag of calcium bentonite for a few dollars,
much cheaper than whats advertised and professed to have special
ingredients..its just calcium bentonite......look in the phone book
for foundry supplys......and get as fine as mesh as possible, anything
from 220 or finer is perfect.
