its unfortunate that the LFS is the only one in the area that I know who has
salt water & plus their tanks are beautiful )

are you located in the Maritimes ? I plan on getting new lites when the
others expire.... till then - I will have to lump it.

The same thing happened with picking up 30 lbs of LR- they had it in a 80
gal. and I was being picky about what ones I wanted and & I wasn't 100%
happy with some of the rocks and expressed this to the guy, who kept
digging. a few weeks after I was back in and talking about the frustration
of rock arrangements ( allot of small pieces) The guy then informs me that
they have over 200 lbs of great stuff in the basement .. a little to late. .

Its the whole customer service aspect that gets me ... its hard to say if
its dishonesty is to make more $$ or if its just plane ignorance. At least
one of the stores I visit , buddy is completely honest - and says I have no
clue..... instead of rolling a bunch of bs off, to make himself look smart.

But, what does one do when there are few choices to chose from?

Yea the dishonesty of pet stores is realy bad. It's been
interesting seeing it from the other side of the fence, as
I own a pet store. What amazes me is how much customers
fall for the other store's dishonesty. What realy suprizes
me is how often customers will go back and be cheated
again and again. But yea it's bad, there is so much
dishonesty in so many pet stores. You would think that
customers would seek out the honest stores, and some do,
but they are luered back to the ones that cheat them, and
because the dishonest stores have the extra leverage,
making more $ in sales (by selling at lower prices, but
selling stuff the the customer doesn't need), it gives
them more leverage over the stores that are honest, and
those stores have a harder time competing. So the
dishonest businesses choke out the honest bussiness.

So you can keep in what you have, some of the mushrooms,
but don't try the stonys.

UGH - the more I was reading, the more I felt I was mislead by the LFS

who specializes in Salt water reefs)

so that would explain why some of my mushrooms lost their intensity, it
wasn't till then I started to doubt what they had told me. what a piser!
expensive lesson learned

Looks like you have 4 20w lights. That's 80 wats, 2.66
wats per gallon. That's quite low. You want 3 to 5 wats of
light per gallon. 3 being on the low side, and 5 being
where you want to be. I like going a little higher like
6.6 wats of light per gallon.

The more light you have the more vigor your corals will
have, and the better chance they have for healing up if
they get dammaged, and better chance of fighing off infection.
