$$ You can green them up by adding some Potash to the water, about 1 heaping
Tbs. per 1000 gallons. Also adding Ironite to the potting soil helps keep
them a deep green. It also works for garden and tropical house plants.

The pond is shallow due to proximity to children, so it gets warm and
string algae out of control even with barley pellets. Has anyone used the
barley extract with any success?
