Just a hello to say I made it through surgery and all is well.
I will say my Doc has got to share his way of harvesting bone from the hip
for the bond graft.
The way the orthopedic Doc's do it causes people a huge amount of
pain....and they seem not able to walk to well after the operation. I was
fine, not much pain at all there. Just a little pain from the muscles that
were cut through when getting in and out of bed...but walking didn't hurt
a bit.
Great! Sounds like you were lucky or techniques have improved since my
operation. How about the neck? Any pain there?
I guess I don't need to tell you to keep up the physio - I still do mine
two years on from time when necessary although of course my op was
different to yours (although pretty much just as drastic) but it's all
much the same theory....actually I'm feeling pretty chuffed with myself
tonight as I was helping hubby out on one of his installs and was able
to lift stuff that would have been unimaginable even 6 months ago - to a
certain degree I put it down to the gradual build up of strength again
from algae scraping the tanks although I do still tend to avoid using my
left arm but sometimes I can't help it....
BTW I know what you mean about the fluids - I added to the problem by
having a raging thirst - in the end the nurses turned off the drip and
begged me to stop drinking water - lol
Good luck again....
