You can increase the water hardness by putting in some pure baking soda
(1/4
a teaspoon per day until it is where you want it). Good luck and later!
=================================
From what I understand baking soda increases the alkalinity, not the
hardness. When I lived where the water was soft and slightly acid I added
dolomite gravel and sea shells. This kept the goldfish's water around PH 7
and slightly hard.
