a friend with a LFS set up something similar a fish ladder from a low tank
to a higher tank. water siphoned down the ladder and retuned to the upper
tank with a power head. it was cool but a lot of work - always gathered air
(check those photos in the link) also fish only swam up stream so one tank
was empty overnight. but it was still neat and we tried many different
fish/tank setups. customers thought it was VERY cool but we both decided it
was just too much work
