Coraline algae help!!!!!!
Limewater additions seem to help a great deal.
After this, current current and more current, if that doesn't work
increase the flow in the tank or add more power heads. Get the picture?.
What brand of test kit are you using for the Ca Alk and pH tests?
Can you post the actual figures please?
Phosphate can retard the growth of coraline and I have foiund that
activley grazing the coraline via collector urchins actually helps it
grow faster.
Good luck, you'll probably not thank me though if the advice works as
coraline is a PITA to scrape of the glass weekly. I;d rather clean off
green algae anyday. Rockwork looks good covered in coraline though so
what do you do?

I have a small sal****er tank (10 gallons) with two clownfish, 4 astea snails,
and 4 dwarf hermit crabs. I put 4 pounds of Fiji live rock into the aquarium
about six weeks ago. The purple color of the coraline algae was a nice
addition to the aquarium, but it seems to be dying. The water chemistry is
good (amonia,ph, calcium, etc. all where the should be). I have one 15w 50/50
bulb (can't seem to find anything stronger for a 10 gallon tank). Any
suggestions on how to encourage the coralline algae growth would be much
appreciated.
Thanks
