Hi, I added my fourth and final goldfish to my 55g yesterday. He seems
very happy and sooo at home. My Ryukin has behaved very oddly since
his introduction. She is just sitting in the middle of the
tank............
================
Maybe she's adjusting to a new tank mate. Suddenly there's a new fish!
I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. :-)
----------------------
Wild guesses
It's not a wild guess. When I recently added ottos and a plecs to my 55g
goldfish tanks I saw a similar reaction in several of my goldfish. Disease
was not involved. One Oranda stayed behind some plants for several days
except to come out and eat.
when it's obvious you didn't read the original posters
question, or at least comprehend it.
I sure did and my reading comprehension is fine, thank you. :-)
The original poster didn't say if she had put the new fish in quarantine
or not. Goldfish from petstores are notorious for bringing diseases and
parasites with them.
Which take time to have an effect on the resident fish.
Fish don't sulk, any evidence of bullying? fin nipping?
But some will differently when a new fish is added - I've seen it happen
more than once.
