Marc - LOVE your website and lovely clear piks - when I can access them
(dialup victim here).
you've given me incentive to do a bit of DIY when I finally bite the bullet
and start doing marine... Only owned my house for a year, so all my money is
going into that at the mo!
Cheers

I don't know about cheap, but I'm building sumps all the time, so I tend
to have
small pieces lying around. Most of that was built with tiny 2" scrap
pieces,
except for the main piece with the holes routed out. I actually had to
waste a
piece the first time around, because I cut a square hole only to find out
it was
a little too big. Opps!! So I redid it with the octogons with a new
piece.
Then yesterday, I cut another set of octogons to keep it as a template in
case I
ever have to make something similar again.
I liked making it because it was different from the typical acrylic
project I
work on. Trust me, I didn't do it for the money, because I only asked for
$20
for my trouble. I probably spent 1.5 hours on that - from beginning to
end, and
for that amount of time $20 isn't worth it for me.

You do a lot of your work using acrylic, do you have a cheap source for
it
?. Where I am acrylic is more then 10x the cost of glass. One sheet of
acrylic 6mm thick in the size of 3 foot x 3 foot is $80aus, the same
size in
glass in well under $10aus.
