The majority of my aipstasia that I place in my "Undesireables " tank
are what I spot on frags of corals and LR that I buy. I take note as
to where its located, and make it a point to frag off that portion of
the rubble on the coral or the LR. Thats what I place in my tank, and
9 out of 0 times the aip will then move off that piece of rubble or
frag and move elsewhere. I really doubt there is a way to remove
without killing or spreading aipstasia, or there would be no need for
Joes Juice and other methods. Just yesterday I bought a really neat
flat LV with a total of 6 shrooms on it (Ricordea yumas) and one warty
shroom. The rock was too large for my tanks space and I always
remove as much of the oroignal LR as possible so I can place things
where I want. This piece of LR had a super nice yellow green aipstasis
on it approximately 2" or better, so now after cutting LR into smaller
pieces I now have that aip relocated to the undesireables tank.
I bought the rock mainly for the warty mushroom and the aip, not the
other yumas, and this morning I woke up to a missing warty
shroom.....and we have looked all over the tank it was in and its
nowehre to be found.......real bummer. And the Aipstasia was glowing
in full color under the UV /Moon lights and looking great.

YOu can get the same results with lemon juice, or if your paranoid
about injecting the stalk with lemon juice (all it takes is a tiny
drop) so ph etc is not affected. Use a syringe of kalkwasser, and just
squirt the aipstasia with it, no need to inject....I have used lemon
juice with excellent results. Unless you have a true peppermint shrimp
its not likely that the shrimp will eat it. Peppermints (wunderman or
something like that) will eat the aip, if they are hungry, but if
suitable feed is found it is unlikely it will touch it. Copperbanded
butterflys eat it but then yu have another added fish to the bio load
to contend with....
Personally I like aip, and have a 0 gal tanbk setup with nothing but
all the undesireable types normally removed from an aquarium and
flushed or destroyed. Its amaziing and is just as interesting to look
at as a fully stocked reef tank is.......Aip that I have is beautiful,
easy to keep, and its also in various colors. I especially like the
extremely brilliant florescent yellow / green aip....Its just as
pretty as any high end anenome you r going to buy. And to tell the
truth, having it propagate and grow rampantly in this tank has not
been any kind of problem.........
JOes juice is high priced IMHO, but it works, but so does lemon juice,
or kalkwasser which is a lot cheaper.

I squirted them with very hot water. I tried several other options

well. You must be very careful with this method, as any other
critters close to the point of application will be killed, as well
