Being up front as usual, are you sure your ready this time around
since you have been having all kind sof problems with fish with red
streaks etc etc etc........Its nice to be able to buy em but its
better to be able to keep em healthy and alive as well.
If you have to ask these types of questions then evidently you
certainly have not researched anything on these or the other fish....

Hi, please be blunt with me about this. I went to a local petstore a
few weeks ago and fell in love with a tiny oranda that they had in
there. Would I be overstocking my 55g with 5 fancy goldfish in there?
It would give them 11g each. I am overfiltering, using a Fluval 404.
Was more concerned about the space they will have.
Secondly, will the other godfish eat the oranda's head growth? Does
every oranda have problems with the head growth covering its eyes?
Yes I'm a novice.
Thanks in advance
Mellie
I think that you have made a very, valid point albeit a little too
blunt...shame you didn't have the confidence to make it as yourself....
I totally agree that we should research our fish before making
purchases...however, that being said, how many of us still make the odd
impulse purchase...I do, and I'm pretty sure if you are honest with
yourself you do as well...
I still do! :-) I bought that clown pleco and even the reasonably
knowledgeable women manager in the store didn't know how big they get. When
I got home and Googled them,... I went back and bought the second one she
had.
..it's part of our addiction (lol)...the fact
that the OP is asking the questions shows a willingness to learn and be
guided by those more experienced...
And I hope she keeps coming back and asking questions as she has been. She
will get differing opinions that will help her learn. I'm sure she is also
reading some websites in addition to coming here.
I don't think any of us should knock
this...but should offer our experience to help things to a happy
conclusion....BTW I know nothing about goldfish nor will pretend to...have
the occasional hankering for a pond though....
Take care Roy
