A good source of info on Clowns can be found at:

Thanks for that :-)

BTW

Do you mean Blue Eyed Gertrudes? Dinky fish around 1cm big but very
pretty with almost glow in the dark blue eyes...if yes, it was me...

Yes, that's them - and I thought it was you - they are gorgeous,
aren't they? :-)

I found them quite delicate initially - lost around 30% but the rest are
doing well - I've also read that they can be short lived. In one tank
they are breeding and there are some survivors...strangely enough this
is a small tank shared with a couple of Platys that are at it as
well...the male seems to have been picked off in the betta tank so I
need to move the 3 females into a tank with a male...

The Hex tank which just contains them (and two otos) has had no breeding
success yet - I'm pretty sure this is down to having the wrong type of
plants so will ajust them soon...

The males are pretty special when they display - real pretty...in fact
they are quite fascinating to watch...

It might be worth moving them into a tank of their own at some point -
the Clowns will make mincemeat of the eggs (and possibly the fry).
