Um, a plants response to losing lots of tissue is more vigerous growth. The
more you price the better they grow.


Yes. That is my experience with outdoor agricultural pursuits. It took
me a long time to trust the advice that pruning encourages new growth.
But we do it all the time, with our shrubs, our perennials, even our
lawns.
