To expand on another conversation,
i thought i would share this, I have different filters in each betta tank,
the ones who have a hob filter i noticed have not been making bubble nests
(there is not to strong of a current) but i decided to see how they would do
with the filters that are a square box half cotton / half carbon, you hook
an air tube to it, its been a week, i also put a thing on the air tube to
control the flow, and have it a little slower for when they are eating and
at night, but with in a few days they were back to blowing bubble nests
again, and seem a lot happier, i got them at petsmart they were 2 for 5.99$
now i still do 2 water changes a week, i only did 1 a week with the HOB, but
i have not noticed that the water condition is any better or worse, its
still pretty clean. I also used a sponge flter in one but i replaced it with
the box thing because it took up less room.
