Default Silly question about food

Moments before spontaneously combusting Nikki at
was heard opining:
****only my opinion***
Every thing I have ever read said that goldfish, especially the type
we have are prone to swimmers bladder, in which case eating flakes
from the top is bad because they are taking in air which adds to the
problem, I started using wardley goldfish crumbles (slow sinking) it
goes down rather quick and they eat it on the way down and off the
bottom, seem to like it a lot,

The Shrimp Pellets also sink and GF love 'em.

I still do give flakes because of
verity but only a couple times a week, then at least 1-2 times a week
I try giving them pea's and it seems to be working out pretty good
for them. I do pea's either the day before or the day I am doing
water changes, just to be safe as not to file the tank to much. On
the other hand before having that info I used to always feed my
goldfish flakes and never had a problem. The only problem with the
sinking food is if they dont eat it all and it rots in the gravel and
they then eat it they can get sick,

Only speaking for my GF now, but well fed healthy GF wont eat foul
decomposing food. I think most of us learn how much to feed per feeding and
so don't have rotting food on the bottom. They will usually scour the
gravel for every last dropped morsel at feeding time.

I have never seen mine miss or
leave a piece however they are little piggy's.

There you go! ;-)

As far as going away and the baby, I would do the tank the day before
leaving, maybe if he is big enough by then it wont be a problem, make
sure she takes the water out with something she can inspect after
before dumping the water out. what are you feeding the little guy
now, maybe show her how you do it. I cant remember how you have it
set up filter and stuff Nik
