Default Tank of doom :-( (Update)

How should I sterilise the tank, to eradicate whatever has wiped out my
entire fish stock...
===========================
Chlorine bleach is excellent for the tank and accessories. I use about 1/4
cup per 2 to 3 gallons of water and leave it for hours. Rinse well and air
before reuse. You can thoroughly rinse then boil or bake the gravel.
Plants have to be trashed as there is no way to really sterilize them as far
as I know. Someone told me Potassium Permanganate can do the job at double
the recommended dose used in tanks and ponds. I would rather toss them and
buy new ones.

BTW, there shouldn't be fish in plant tanks at the store. If there is you
may bring home a disease on the plants.
