The fish look good, they are active, eyes clear. Not sure about the
sunken bellies... since they already have that flat hatchet shape.
Other than not eating when I'm feeding, they look ok. Is it possible
that they are nocturnal fish and I should feed them at a different time
than the other fish... maybe when the light is off?

I doubt it, but who knows. Anything's worth a try. I can't remember
what other inhabitants are in your tank and whether any of them might
be intimidating to the hatchets. I'm grasping at straws here.

I also have a couple of corys, ottos, some neon tetras and three
australian rainbows. The only fish that could intimidate them are the
rainbows which are about the same size. From time I see them chase each
other and a very few times I saw one of them chase a hatchet. Most of
the time though, the rainbows seem around the hatchets and the hatchets
don't seem intimidated at all. And I have also tried putting the
hatchets in a separate tank. But that didn't seem to influence them to
eat.

Hang around. Maybe someone else will have some ideas. I'm fresh out.
