They make nests for me but have never successfully bred here where the
water is very hard and alkaline.
===========================
Yeah I know how to breed them...not really the problem, but any way it
worked out about a half hour after putting the bubble nest from another
betta in there he started adding to it and made his own, so all is well,
he was a little preoccupied with her and I think forgot....the problem
with him is he is not mean at all, he has no problem with other fish i
think including betta's, he is just happy as can be to have her
there....so its a little strange, not like a normal spawn..
I'll say! But then they're all individuals. I remember a blue betta I had
in the 1960s. What a sweetie he was. He never ripped the females fins and
almost always bred with any ripe female I put in his tank. He never ate the
fry and was an excellent father. You just don't find many like that. I had
males that wouldn't accept any females and died fryless amid their bubble
nests. Of course the rest were somewhere in-between.
...they are just kind of hanging out
together at this point but he did get the idea and built on to the nest...
Nik
That's very interesting. :-)
