Default Cross-Posting

Then why are you going backwards in technology and ways to use the
internet....Perhaps you would rather have the old BBS systems brought
back instead of images as well..........and then we can always revert
back to the 1200 or lower BPS modems, and old 8087 or Tandy 99
computers.

In article , -ED says...

Who had the brilliant idea of allowing cross-postings on usenets? What
positive purpose could it possible serve? Seems like it just bogs the
system down...consuming bandwidth.....this is a senseless generation for
sure...Technology abounds and we lack the discipline to use it properly.

Back in the day, USENET was all there was. Gov and University
researchers colaborated accross the earth, they all had diff domains,
cross posting allowed teams to comunicate with one message.

I remember that, as well--although I didn't participate in the newsgroups
then...I'm new at this form of research. .It would only have made sense to
revamp the usenets' programming and addressing domains to curtail the
otherwise abusive behaviors employed today. Thanks for clearing that up for
me....-ED
