I've read conflicting temperature preferences for the RTBS...one site
states a preference of 75*F...some say 78*F...some say 76*-82*F...My
tank
is holding at 80*F (If I can read that inny winny teeny mercury
right)..I'm considering bringing it down to around 77*-78*F...any
thoughts
on this...or am I disturbing things too much here?
Thanks bunches...-ED
If you have ten people who keep a certain type of fish, you will have at
least 8 different opinions and they all think they are right : )
Just depends on what they have had luck with...I would bet any where in
or
around those temps is probably good, when I was reading about the best
temp to breed betta's in I came across the same thing, I seen what
worked
best for my fish and went with that, which is 80-82 degree's
Nik
77F seems to work very well for the majority of tropicals, not too hot
that
they are always hungry or it's expensive to heat, and not too cool that
their colours fade and their activity slows down.

Roger That...Thanks for the holler!
I picked up a couple of cories today. They're a turquoise-colored, 'bout a
3/4" long. But I've got a real dilemma on my hands.
There are three families in my town that are fishheads...one family is
relocating towards B'ham, AL. Their son broke their small tank today in the
moving process. The mom came by and asked me if I would mind taking a fish
off of their hands. After explaining the broken tank deal and such, she
told me it was a "gorgeous gold and black" fish.
Well..I said sure..she comes in later this AM with a sure'nuff "gorgeous"
gold and black........OSCAR !!!! D@#M I thought...Yes..It is far beyond any
specimen or photos I've kept or seen. It's 3" long now. I didn't bother
asking any questions. It has the picture of health. Now what in
sam-d@#n-he-- am I gonna do with this "gorgeous" thing. My tankmates won't
survive. I really hadn't planned on this...If I remember, Oscars like to
tear things up..Their appetite is ferocious...and They get a little bigger
than I care to have in a 55gal. Now I'm really forced into a corner on
making another tank. There's noone else here that can take him. And He's
such a specimen..
So that's my day thus far. Bittersweet comes to mind right 'bout now. Do
ya think I can stuff him with food and He'll lose interest in the
danios?..(=\...Ok chiclids pros...step forth...fire away. I'm cornered
here.
Thanks Again......-ED
