Default hydrometer dilemma

That hydrometer design is silly. I always tell people to
turn the hydrometer upside down, insert it into the
aquarium, and then turn it up allowing the air to bubble
up. The whole idea of trying to keep from getting your
hands wet is silly.

I hate the Coralife one anyway, I have to fill it and dump it about 3
times to get the bubbles off, the Seatest is easier to use.

???
Your statements in this thread are like you were from a different world...
Are you having fun with us or something? It is just unreal... :-))

You have problems with water bubbles in a hydrometer kind
which is perfectly designed to minimize the effect of water rushing
in (by the usage of high dam and opening from the bottom)
but you do not have problem with the old style one, with the
water rushing in like crazy... Go figure!

"They just don't make 'em like they used to...."

Exactly! They make them much better now :-))
