Yea a sumpless tank is a little different.

I hear what you say, and it's what I used to do on my larger previous
tanks. This is a 15 gal nano with no sump, which is a new area for
me. Hard to get decent water movement without a little powerhead in
there, you can't really fit the sort of Eheim I'm used to using in
there I'm finding. An airstone behind the reef does quite a bit, but
not perhaps enough for acropora etc that likes movement. The small
tank has presented some interesting new challenges.
