If the air bubbles were there to stay stuck to the needle
than this method would not work anyway...
Properly seasoned needle (fully wet for couple of hours)
does not attract air bubbles.
Who presoaks their hydrometers for a couple hours before
using?????
Maybe someone who has problems with air bubbles? :-)))
Somehow I do not have problems with bubbles.
But it works - at least in the case of Coralife "Deep Six".
Water opening is on the bottom, so you are not getting
only surface water sample, like you do with any other
kind of hydrometer (i.e. Seatest) but sample comes from
the six-inches deep water column.
And do you really think that the surface water has a
different salinity than 6 inches deep?????
It depends on how dirty is your tank... Sometimes there is
a bacterial film over the surface of the water and this is
what you sample when you take the water from the surface...
