Okay,
Give me your ideas about repairing my 72 gallon bowfront. I have stripped
the bottom and 1/4 of the sides twice now, and the first time it held for
about 2 months, this time it held for almost 6. I can't spot the location
of the leak, but it is literally pouring. I am using the same GE 1200 that
Oceanic uses on these size and bigger tanks. The only thing I can think of
is that I am not supporting the bottom of the aquarium with anything. Its
on a flat full wooden surface, but nothing is under the glass its self.
Full of water/Rock etc, its probably looking at 600 pounds or more.
Any ideas ?
Richard
The silicone is flexing the pieces of glass apart under the weight and
uneven surface. To do it properly, you need to take it apart. Clamp the
glass together, and then keep it on a perfectly flat surface. Alot of work,
but there's no quick fix that will work.
