Just because they live, doesn't mean they are thriving!
If you can't provide the proper care for an animal you shouldn't keep
it.

People keep Goldies all the time in 1-2 gallon tanks or even bowls.
They can live like this for 2 yrs sometimes. I've seen it with my own
eyes.
It never makes it right. It just meant that these fish were abused for
that long.
You're doing the same thing with your Bettas.
If you want to abuse your own fish, fine. That's your choice.
However, if you tell other folks this is the right way, I will correct
you.
If you haven't noticed, I don't bother correcting you on anything you
claim when it comes to Goldies or Koi, because this is where your
expertise is. Bettas, is not and you still have much to learn.
