My stand is 34 1/2" in height. When setting on my sofas I look right at
the
tank and when standing in front I don't have to bend over to look at it.

Are your eyes at the same height whether sitting or standing?

At 5'10" looking at a tank that is setting on a 24" stand is just a pain.
