Interesting behavior
Sounds like breeding. Not only is it unusual for them to
cross breed, but it's unusual for tangs to breed in tanks.
What size tank do you have?

Well, hmmm....I could go with the version I sent to the Penthouse forum
. What details can I provide? Foxface excreting something that
looks like sand, but it's frequent and I don't assume he eats that much
sand to pass it in such quantities...so I assume it's eggs or some
creepy diseased excrement. Tang excretes a cloudy substance, assumption
is either again non-standard excrement or Dori is a bad name for a
clearly male fish. The 2 fish in question have been good friends for a
while they are always swimming together. Maybe they are taking their
relationship to the next level?

So in my tank I have a foxface and blue tang amongst other things.
My foxface frequently deposits what I guess are eggs, but I could be
completely wrong. It's granular and whiteish, for all I know it
could be sand, but does not resemble standard detritus. The other
day whilst observing my finned friends I saw my blue tang(hippo tang,
regal tang, dori from nemo...etc) doing what appeared to be going #3
on the alleged eggs. Is it possible that they were trying to get
their procreation on? Is cross breeding possible? Am I witnessing
something else?
