Lighting Question
Also,
What are the dimensions of your tank? Watts / gallon isn't all that
accurate. Deeper tanks need more light (depending on what you want to
keep).

Hi,
I want to upgrade my lighting. I am looking at 2 units right now please give
me input on them if you can:
1)Coralife 36" Lunar Aqualight Fixture plus LED Lights--- 36" with 96 watt
10.000K Daylight and 96 watt True Actinic 03 Blue Compact Fluorescent Lamps
plus two 3/4 watt Lunar Blue-Moon-Glow LED 470nm Lamps.
2) 36" Nova Extreme 4x39W T5 HO w/3 Lunar----There are two 460nm Actinic
Blue, two Daylight 10,000k Slimpaq T5 lamps, 3 Lunar lights, 4 Lunar lights
and docking mounts are included.
Both lights are about $200. I think there is more "bang to the buck" in the
Novas, but I was leaning toward the Coralife because it seems to have a
wider distribution (I thought that would be easier to get replacement
parts).
Also--I now have a 42 watt fixture (21w Flor/21 Watt Act). I have enough
room over my tank to fit the new lights and the old. The new 192 watts + the
old 42 watts brings me to 234 watts for 65 gallons. Is that sufficient for
"Moderate Light" Corals? Is it sufficient for a Bubble-Tip Anemone?
I also have another 44 watt florescent light, I might be able to fit all 3.
thanks again...................
