Is this a tree coral? We just got this as our first piece of coral last
night, and it doesn't seem to be doing too well. This might very well
be because we bought a new heater last night, and unbeknownst to us,
the thermostat on the heater clearly is off because when I came home
from church this morning the tank temperature was about 95 degrees.
Luckily, everything seems to be ok, but the coral seems to be not doing
so hot (no pun intended).
What the ideal temperate for these kinds of coral, or soft coral in
general? Also, what's the ideal salinity level. I have it right now at
1.024. Is this normal for the coral to flop over to one side when you
first put it into the tank (if you can't tell from the picture, its
flopping over toward the camera). Any advice/fellow horror stories
would be nice/funny! Thanks!

Mine flops over when stressed or unhappy (ie if he has been moved or if
the hermit crabs have dislodged him)....I've also seen them do this at
the LFS....mine (touch wood) has always straightened up in the end....
