My friend has that same camera. He bought i mainly for use n the boat
as things usually get wet out on the Gulf......he also snorkels in
and around the Jettys etc and uses it, and the pics come out just
fine. IIRC he said its rated for like 10 feet, but he has bounced to
over 25 feet with it, and it did not leak, but the light was
insufficient for a decent pic too.
I have a Nikonos 35mm as well as a reg Nikon, in the underwater
housings, light bar etc...the whole shooting match, Cost a small
fortune years ago when I initially bought it. YOur right, those
housings are high priced......mine has been around the world a few
times on variuos trips and has never left me down......back in the
early 80's late 70's it spent most of its time underwater somewhere on
this earth.
Back to the camera, you mentioned. I know nothing of its pixels etc
and lens etc.It does seem to take pretty darn decent pics from what I
seen. IIRC it wa not all that much $$ either, much cheaper than an
empty housiing cost!

Sounds like it would be a perfect gift for snorkeling kids or myself :-)
What do you think ? Anybody maybe knows first hand this camera ?
