My choice is to put a 55G corner tank in a spot perfect for viewing from
the room I'm in 90% of the time, or putting a 75G 48x18x20" tank in a room
where I spend very little time.
I'd definitely go for one that you see all the time.
Do realize that a tank has some noise, heat, and light issues. Plus potential
water spills. But as long as all that's ok in your chosen location, it seems
silly to do all that work if you won't get a chance to watch it much.
How many pounds of live rock did you have in there? I've seen
recommendations of between 1 and 2 lbs per gallon. I was thinking of going
in the middle and getting 1.5lbs per gallon. You seem to have had a good
amount in your tank.
Yeah, sorry, I don't exactly remember. I just kept adding a piece here or
there until I got the aquascaping look that I wanted. But if you build a
tower of rock in the back corner that goes from floor to ceiling of the tank
(plus some other rocks on the sides), you ought to wind up with enough.
Was very interesting watching the progression of your tank from the
beginning!
Glad you enjoyed it!
