Halfmoon Damsel,-- Border Damsel -- Dascyllus marginatus anyone have any
I picked up one today and may go back for the other tomorrow. Its a
pretty neat fish .........for a damsel that is. Its back half is a
light tan/ beige color, front half is dark chocolate brown, with its
dorsal and anal fins edged in black, and its got a yellowish colored
nose / mouth area with a translucent metallic look lavender blue tail
fin. Its a typical damsel, but its from the Red Sea.....and from
what the vendor was told not usually imported or available on a
steady basis. Its also mnot suppoed to be as mean spirited as most
damsels, but that remains to be seen. LFS got three in and they kept
one for their display tank, I got one, and asked them to hang on the
other till tomorrow, but from the looks of the fish I guess I'll go
get it as well.....Its certainly not fussy about what it eats either
as anything I put in the tank was scarfed up. Right now its only
co-inhabitant is a green spotted leopard puffer. I am not really a
damsel lover, but this little fish is pretty nice.
