I have not checked the water chemistry, but it is clean, not debris,

since he moves around fast, but I am quite concerned....
Any clue?
In order to know what or if it's eating, you'll have to find out what
kind of Pleco it is. There are hundreds of types. Many are strict
vegie eaters, while many are omnivores.
What size tank is this and also, how long has it been set up and
running with fish?
I have no idea what kind of pleco it is. All I can say is that it is
1.5 inch long. Dark brown in color with yellow stripes. Like a tiger
if you will. The tank is small so far. 2 gallons but planing to go
bigger. Is the only one in the tank and I have had it for a month
already.
Well....
Are there any other fish in this tank?
Your description still sounds like many different types and species.
So, now we have to figure out what you have by pictures.
Try Fishindex.com - Then click Library, then Freshwater fish, then
catfish.
Once in the catfish section you can choose from actual catfish,
plecos, etc.
You can even do a search up at the top for a common named species, but
people will often call a catfish a "pleco" if they don't know any
better.
I want you to look at these 2 picture links first and if it isn't what
you have, then do the searches in the catfish section. Just take it
one section at a time and look at the pictures. Sometimes the little
pics on the right will have a better view of the fish, so do look at
those too.

You also didn't mention what your water change schedule is. This is
very important for such a tiny tank...even more so than a large tank.
How much and and how often are water changes done and if you vacuum
the gravel as well.
Don't forget to mention if there are any other fish in this tank
besides the algae eater.
