flooring. I would estimate a 230 gallon tank to weigh in at about
2000 lbs or so, with some sand and rock in there. Keep in mind the
tank is 8 feet long, so if it were oriented perpendicular to the floor
joists, that would reduce the load on each individual joist
significantly.

Oh, because we did add an extra support under the floor for our two 55g
tanks. They cross the joists so the load is spread out along the one wall.
The heavy crossbeam is what we supported. No sagging so far.
