Default Water Lettuce - new growth

The water lettuce, I can understand preserving over the winter months in
some parts of the world, but not the duck weed! Do you really find it an
addition to your goldfishes diet?

Yes, they really love it. It's hardy here in TN so comes back each spring.
They get it as a treat once a week.

Where I live (gods own county) it is a
real problem controlling the growth of duck weed, even in tanks.

True, unless the fish eat it all, as the goldies do.

At what
point do you experience the last frosts in your part of the world?

Around April 15th to the 20th.

Do any
other floating plants survive the winter outdoors?

There are only two tropicals that I've tried. Water lettuce does fine (if
kept in a fishtank) but Water Hyacinths usually don't (too tall so they go
in a south window) make it. Now with the greenhouse I may try and keep a
few over next winter.
