Cowries
For the last few days
When I see a cowrie need the surface of the water
I have been handfeeding it a couple of duckweed leaves.
Geez they are ugly up close but they are definitely hand feedable.
just what to feed is the question I'll have to sus out

awww...... man,
thats like exactly not the easy answer I wanted.
that said my first advice on the subject.... don't keep them with fish,
seems to be a step in right direction.
They are out with their mantles during daylight hours more.
anyone got any good husbandry related sites on Australian molluscs on
hand?
yea I know, off to MASA again I spose.
cheers Wayne

k.net...
It depends on the species. Many that are sold can't be kept alive without
expensive diets like gorgonias. There is one that is supposed to eat
bryopsis.
Start Googling :-)

Anyone have any luck breeding them?
Realise lots species and stuff
But any guidlines would be helpful here.
Can buy good sized ones here for $24 each
which is nice but I would like a few hundred in a tank.
heck if they died I could make.... something.
But first I need to breed.
Off to research but always worth a quick ask.
Ok so most are ocean drifting larvae ones
but our local species
which are restricted to the Big reef
may not be.
not much info out there on breeding them
thats for sure
Ok..... I'd settle for a secret cowrie food formulae that I can try
condition them with.
Have a few scattered in tanks that seem to do fine....
But I wanna put quantity in one tank.
hmmm.....
try more spirulina I spose
heh
