How much did you pay for them?

I live in Australia and saw them for the first time in my LFS! they were
AUD$95!~! (about us$60) that is like 5-6 times as much as a clown loach! as
much as i wanted 2 it was very hard to spend that much money on them !

I was told they are real rare in Australia so the price is so high.

Would be interested to see how much they are in the US or where they r more
commonly available.

The growth rate of these fish is very dependant on the availability &
types of food provided. A diet of flake food might achieve almost no
perceptible growth, while a tank full of snails with a diet of brine
shrimp & bloodworms will cause a grown rate which will might make you
start worrying about your Neon's safety ;~)

To cite an example, if I drop 2 Yoyos juveniles (1.5") in a tank full of
snails, the first one to figure out that snail=escargot=food will be
noticeable larger in just one week, as compared to his partner. In 2
months, if only one is eating snails, there will be an inch difference
between them (almost double the size difference).
