it is likely one of two things. epistylis which shows up in warmer
water and is cleared up with lots of water changes or lymphocystis,
which is a virus and found in cooler water. I got a koi with lympho
and frankly, it doesnt clear up, there is no treatment and it supposed
to be somewhat contagious, but none of the other koi get it so I
think that fish is susceptible. if your other fish doesnt have
anything like this, then it is most likely lympho and dont worry.

once I was dining at this restaurant on the Hudson river and these
huge carp were coming to the surface to be fed and I saw the
absolutely ugliest fish on earth with lympho all over its mouth.
obviously the fish was thriving even with the "warts". Ingrid

I've tried Myxazin and another general antibacterial, I've added salt
to 3% and I've tried increasing the temps to 25 degrees C for a few
weeks. Nothing at all seems to make any difference.

The fish isn't showing any signs of distress, but I can see this thing
eventually killing it unless I can resolve it before it takes over the
whole fish.

The water quality is generally excellent, pH, Ammonia & Nitrites. The
Nitrates have historically not been so great, but not dangerous
levels. The other comet in the tank seems fine.

Can anyone suggest anything please ?
